  1. I have a question for everyone that reads this comic.
Is it just a porn comic or does it have a real plot?
Interested in hearing everyone’s thoughts, especially yours Bane

    1. It does take its time getting to plot progress, but this is by far the best DC porn comic I’ve ever read. Black Pharaoh is a pretty good writer who recognizes the value of withholding certain things from the audience for anticipation. I would like to see more forward progression, but we’re reading and enjoying it for free. So it’s disingenuous to complain too much about that.

    2. Wow… I’m being addressed personally… A joy, I must admit.
As for your question: Pure porn, or porn with a plot?

It’s difficult, because everyone has their own opinion.

In my personal opinion, this comic does have a plot:

      ——————————————————————————————————————-

      – High school students accidentally summon a super-demon who gradually either kills
      – all metahumans or subjugates them, while plunging the world into apocalypse and
      – madness, and becoming increasingly powerful and dangerous.

      – This gets to the point where he becomes a universe-wide threat.

      – The heroes (and villains) try to find a way not only to protect themselves from him,
      – but also to destroy him for good.

      – Unfortunately, their efforts are hampered by the madness this super-demon spreads.

      ——————————————————————————————————————-

If you leave out the Batman/Popobawa subplot, that would be a sufficient plot in my opinion.

The sex scenes can either be omitted entirely or replaced with alternative scenes (fighting / mind control / torture / murder).

And seriously: There are a lot of porn comics/porn stories out there whose cheap excuse for a plot is so thin that even an asthmatic mosquito could blow it away.

Compared to that, “Forsaken Souls” is nothing short of a literary masterpiece.

And in my opinion, the quality of the art style is also nothing to sneeze at…

The only criticism I could have is that the story drags on so much with all the sex scenes.
Then again, it’s a porn comic… Sex scenes are an existential necessity. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a porn comic…

I hope my reply wasn’t too long and I was able to answer your question.

  2. Bane – I respect your views which is why I called you out directly for this.
I am in agreement with your plot analysis but for everything is being drawn out and stretched to the point, I don’ think there is an actual outline he’s following. I think he’s shooting from the hip and going off in directions that are ONLY to introduce new characters to screw so its not the same old ones.
I really don’t care who “wins” in the end I just want to know there is an end in my lifetime LOL

    1. > Bane – I respect your views which is why I called you out directly for this.
      > I am in agreement with your plot analysis (…)

      Thank You very very much.

      > (…) I don’ think there is an actual outline he’s following. I think he’s shooting from
      > the hip and going off in directions that are ONLY to introduce new characters to
      > screw so its not the same old ones.

Either that… Or he suffers from the same problem that many authors seem to have.
They have an idea and a fixed plot. But while writing/drawing, new ideas keep popping up. “Oh, I could do that. And this would be great too…”
And so the whole thing drags on like a chewed-up piece of gum.

      > I really don’t care who “wins” in the end I just want to know there is an end in
      > my lifetime.

Two brains, one thougt! Unfortunately (and THIS bothers me personally the most!) BP rarely answers direct questions from commentators.

      1. @ Trevor

Another problem arises when you want or need to depict multiple events (taking place simultaneously in different locations).

In the story, these events may occur simultaneously.

But the reader/viewer can only follow them one after the other.

This, of course, significantly extends the length of a story (regardless of the medium: comic, TV series, or movie).

      2. Sorry about not answering much over here. I’ll work on that.
Before I even published a single page of Forsaken Souls, the whole story was written and sketchboarded. The original final page count was back then 750 pages. And yes as you just mentioned, things didn’t remain as they were. In some cases as you guessed, things that weren’t originally plotted were added. On other cases, scenes that were too short were extended, mostly on the first chapters and finally some thing have been cut out or changed as they were poorly written or developed.
So. How long will Forsaken Souls be at the end? Most certainly 1000+ pages. And I understand Trevor when he says he wonders if he’ll see the end of it. And i’m right there with you my friend, since I’m not getting any younger and se far it has taken 1/5 of my lifetime. But I don’t want to rush things. And I hope you all stay here to see the ending.

        1. Thank you very very much for your answer, Black Pharaoh.

It’s nice to read that my theory (New ideas and developments always come up while writing/drawing) was correct.

I hope you don’t consider my criticism as ingratitude. It’s just sometimes frustrating when the author is the only one who can answer your question and then doesn’t respond.

“finally some thing have been cut out”
          Now I’m curious! :-))

          1. >Bane – I hope you don’t consider my criticism as ingratitude. It’s just sometimes frustrating when the author is the only one who can answer your question and then doesn’t respond.

Not at all. I’ve always been open to criticism. I know my limitations and I also know that not everyone is going to like or agree to what I do. Which is perfectly fine. And as long as it’s done in a cordial way. Any criticism is welcome.

            >Bane – “finally some thing have been cut out” Now I’m curious! :-))

Nothing in detrimental to the plot. Mostly cringe stuff and at least a couple scenes where I didn’t want to go THERE.

  3. Hello, Black Pharaoh .. love your work .. love the story .. thanks for taking the time to read and respond to our comments here! Two questions: 1) have you or do you work for a comic book company? And 2) given the current direction and some of the completely hard R/MA content from the new DCU (i.e. in Peacemaker – nude orgy scene; some content in The Penguin) head honcho James Gunn’s pen .. have you thought about submitting Forsaken Souls or other storylines/ideas as an alt Earth reality to be an actual part of a future DCU movie or published graphic novel series?

    1. Hi.
      1) No I’ve never work for any book company. I’m not a comic book artist per se. Just a Graphic Designer with a love for comics.
      2) Definitely not. I’m pretty sure DC Comics or Warner won’t be happy with how I portrayed their characters.
