  1. I’m really, really looking forward, to the chromatic Picture of Donna as Nightgaunt.

But i’m still confused. I still don’t why Nyarlathotep would want to break Diana’s Will in the first Place…

Does he want her als his Queen / Equal? Or as a Nightgaunt?

    1. If you read back in the earlier issues ( I can’t remember which pages) Nyarlathotep attacked Olympus and all the gods died to his raping or his night gaunts raping them. He mentions that Diana will do the same unless he corrupts her first.

      1. You are talking about Chapter 6 “The Garden of Sorrow” and the Pages 108 to 110.
And while it is correct, that the Gods of Olymp couldn’t withstand the Power and Corruption of Nyarlathotep therefore perished (except for Ares the God of War).

Nowhere is it mentioned that Diana would meet the same Fate.

I’ve read the Scene multiple times.
The Conversation between Madame Xanadu, Nyarlathotep and Zatana. Start Page 109, last Panel, End Page 110 first Panel. Citation:

Madame Xanadu:”Master? We farmed these Olympians, but their Power feels so fleeting, so unsubstantial.”
Nyarlathotep: “That’s because my Power runs through your Veins, my beloved Nightgaunts. And it’s like a Cancer to this decadent Pantheon. They’ve been living so far away from Humanity, that they’ve lost their Grip to the mortal World. That’s why they succumbed so easily.”
Zatana: “Wouldn’t this be a Problem with Your Bride and her Sisters?”
Nyarlathotep: “Don’t worry my Firstborn. They (Diana and her Sisters) might be touched by this decaying Lot, but they are still bound to the mortal Plane. They will convert. Now we must leave…”

I don’t know, what Version / Translation You have read, but i triple-checked.

This Conversation also reinforces my Confusion. Or rather, it brought it about in the first Place.

They refer to Diana as his “Bride”, but what he’s doing now suggests that she might just become one of his Nighgaunts after all.

        1. The Comment above was supposed to be a Reply to Black Pharaoh’s Reply on October 6, 2022 at 11:18 pm.

          Unfortunately slipped down.

  2. First: Thank You very much!
    Second: Terrific!
Of all the Nightgaunts, including those found in the Commissions Gallery, Donna is your best! A real Masterpiece!

  3. I guess your right. When I went back to re-read it after seeing what is happening to Diana now, the Don’t Worry my Firstborn came across to me as he was saying, “don’t worry, I can still convert her.” As if he knows that she may be harmed but he will have to be extra careful so her conversion won’t kill her. I might be just wrong though. The other thing I don’t get is why she is so special? What is it about Wonder Woman that makes her his bride versus the others?

    1. That can have several Reasons:
      – Her Relationship with Batman, for the dramatic kick.
      – She is the strongest Amazon / Superheroine on the Planet
      – She is the greatest Challenge (has the strongest Will and hardest to corrupt)
      – She is the greatest Prize (has the purest Soul, rather unlikely, but still)
      – She is a Demigod (Depends on what Background Story you use)
      – The Author is a Fan of her.
      – The Author can’t stand her and therefore wants her to suffer especially and make
her look as bad as possible.
      – Fans love it when the best and greatest Heroes suffer the most and fall the deepest.

Pick something, there are enough Theories and Ideas.
