I have to say, that I almost didn’t recognize Mary Marvel in the first two Panels. If I hadn’t known, it was her.
Her Face looks a lot older and especially in the second Panel her facial Expression has something, that would be more appropriate for a Villainess. Or at least a Femme Fatale.
Possible.
However, in relation to Mary herself: I was referring more to the Drawing and Rendering of Mary’s Face, not her Personality.
As for Alestair, first of all I find it odd, that apparently only his Hands and Face are disfigured…
Not really unusual or even impossible.
But somehow… It doesn’t fit.
And since I’ve read Black Pharaoh’s other Stories… I wouldn’t be surprised, if Alestair isn’t hurt at all and is just hiding his Identity.
Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor, or anyone else who doesn’t want to get caught.

And something bothers me about Alestair.
I think Alistair groomed Mary and I know I mentioned this on a previous page, but think Mary now scopes out other women for him.
