Damian (Robin), Mercy, and Hiro were supposed to team up with Grodd because Grodd was supposed to provide them with weapons. Or at least something like that…
Doomsday and Parasite…
Upon their arrival, at least Robin immediately smelled a rat and realized that something was seriously rotten.
So he (apparently unnoticed, though that remains to be seen) sent a message to Batman: “SNAFU.”
“SNAFU” is military jargon and means “Situation Normal, All Fucked Up.”
So Batman and Luthor immediately understood that Damian and Mercy were having problems and that Grodd apparently IS a problem.
That’s why Batman (along with Scorcher, Zauriel, and Ares) immediately set out.
And if I’m interpreting the preview on page 766 correctly, there will at least be a (verbal) confrontation… But it probably won’t be peaceful…

How did they get there
Either a Motherbox, a spell from Enchantress or a portal from Ares… My first guesses.
The later
Makes sense, given that Ares is part of the team.
But also a little surprising… that he “deigns” to support mortals in such a way…
Thanks for the reply.
Part of a plan when they sent them there?
Hmm… Let’s see if and how much I understood:

That pretty much sums it up
Thanks for the reply.
